83-letni Sergio wygrywa casting na agenta, którego zadaniem jest przeniknięcie do domu spokojnej starości i zdawanie raportów z poziomu opieki nad pensjonariuszami. Casting organizuje niejaki detektyw Romulo, do którego zgłasza się córka pensjonariuszki podejrzewająca, że jej matka jest źle traktowana. Gdy Sergio „rozpracowuje” pensjonat i zbliża się do kilku swoich rówieśników, odkrywa, że niebezpieczeństwo dla seniorów ukryte jest gdzie indziej, znacznie głębiej. Ten film dokumentalny to wyjątkowa medytacja nad współczuciem i samotnością ze wspaniałymi bohaterami i zwrotami akcji.
Sergio, 83, wins a casting for an agent to infiltrate a retirement home and report on the level of care provided to the residents. The casting is organized by a detective named Romulo, chosen by the daughter of a resident who suspects that her mother is being badly treated. As Sergio „works out” the retirement home and gets closer to some of his peers, he discovers that the danger to the seniors is hidden elsewhere, much deeper. This documentary is a unique meditation on compassion and loneliness with wonderful characters and twists.

Urodzona w 1983 roku chilijska reżyserka, scenarzystka, producentka i krytyczka filmowa. Jako dziennikarka współpracowała z magazynem filmowym „La Fuga”, była też współautorką książki „Teorie kina dokumentalnego w Chile w latach 1957 – 1973”. Od 2004 roku jest aktywną reżyserką filmową. Zrealizowany przez nią w 2020 roku „Agent kret” został nominowany do Oscara w kategorii Najlepszy Pełnometrażowy Film Dokumentalny.
Chilean director, writer, producer and film critic born in 1983. As a journalist she collaborated with the film magazine „La Fuga” and co-authored the book „Chilean Documentary Film Theories 1957-1973”. Since 2004 she has been an active film director. Her 2020 film „The Mole Agent” was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
