Mimo antysemickiej nagonki rozpętanej przez polskie władze ludowe pod koniec lat 60’ reżyser Jerzy Hoffman kończy pracę nad filmem „Pan Wołodyjowski”. To on staje się przepustką do realizacji „Potopu”, najdroższego filmu w historii polskiej kinematografii. Podczas pracy reżyser nie tylko musi się mierzyć z piętrzącymi się problemami realizacyjnymi, nieufnością władzy ludowej, ale również z oczekiwaniami milionów Polaków.
„Potop. Postscriptum” zagląda za kulisy powstawania kultowego polskiego filmu historycznego, nominowanego do Oscara w roku 1974 oraz opowiada o barwnym życiorysie jego twórcy.

Despite the anti-Semitic campaign unleashed by the Polish communist authorities in the late 1960s, director Jerzy Hoffman completes work on the film Pan Wołodyjowski. It is this film that paves the way for the production of Potop, the most expensive film in the history of Polish cinema. During production, the director not only had to deal with mounting production problems and the distrust of the communist authorities, but also with the expectations of millions of Poles.

“The Deluge: Postscript” takes a look behind the scenes of the making of this cult Polish historical film, nominated for an Oscar in 1974, and tells the colorful story of its creator.

Był pokazywany w polskich i amerykańskich kinach oraz na wielu festiwalach filmowych na całym świecie. Zdobywał nagrody w Polsce, USA, Chinach i we Włoszech. W 2022 roku premierę miał jego film Bezkrwawa rewolucja. Krótka historia internetu w Polsce, który zdobył The Hollywood Eagle Documentary Award i został nominowany do dorocznych nagród Polskiego Instytutu Sztuki Filmowej.

A graduate of political science and Latin American studies at the University of Warsaw. Television journalist and creator of adventure video games. Graduate of the DOK PRO documentary directing course and the SCRIPT screenwriting course at the Wajda School. His feature-length documentary debut, About Animals and People, premiered at the 2019 Krakow Film Festival. It was shown in Polish and American cinemas and at many film festivals around the world. It won awards in Poland, the US, China, and Italy. In 2022, his film Bezkrwawa rewolucja (Bloodless Revolution) premiered. A Brief History of the Internet in Poland, which won The Hollywood Eagle Documentary Award and was nominated for the annual awards of the Polish Film Institute.
